Get low on productivity because of negative moods? Here’s how to solve it!
What is the most essential thing that can affect our achievement? That is productivity.
Productivity is also a crucial factor that can determine our ability, effectiveness, and speed in achieving success. However, humans will always be humans, which is volatile in many aspects. One of the main things about humans that is volatile and can affect productivity is the human’s feeling or emotion, which is a product of mood conditions.
The good news is that we can regulate this!
Here is the concept.
When we are happy, we have a great spirit to be productive in all aspects of our lives, and vice versa. That is why we have to manage our mood. And mood can be in a positive or negative condition based on our hormonal state within our bodies and minds. So we now know that hormones are the source of all this. In short, we may visualise the flow as follows:
To improve our mood, we must manage our hormonal levels, which influence our mood. And before we continue to the “how to manage our mood level” part, we need to know that there are 4 types of hormones inside our body and mind; we may call them D.O.S.E., such as:
- Dopamine: produces joyful sensation and controls motivation, mood, movement, memory, sleep, and behaviour regulation.
- Oxytocine: this is commonly referred to as the love hormone, and this is associated with trustworthiness, empathy, anxiety reduction, and even increasing fertility.
- Serotonine: this is a hormone that plays a key role in fixing mood.
- Endorphine: this hormone can regulate feelings of joy and happiness.
Then, how to manage their level or condition? We can do some of the following activities that are very effective in increasing our mood levels, such as:
1. Relaxation.
We can do some relaxations by practicing mindfulness meditation, deep breathing, massage, exercising, etc. Using essential oils while meditating or massaging to provide a calming effect in our minds. We can even try yoga, which can improve the quality and amount of our sleep. These activities can effectively boost dopamine, oxytocine, and endorphine levels inside our minds and bodies.
2. Bask in the morning sun.
Exposing our body while doing exercise or even just watering the flowers can give some natural vitamins and energies to our bodies, which can also develop our spirit. Multiply it with the clearer air quality in the morning that can refresh our minds as well. This simply can be done in our home or apartment without spending money.
3. Do your favourite activities.
Our favourite activities or hobbies can also create positive vibes and spirits inside our minds. We can create or listen to our favourite music, eat our favourite meals or foods, go to the cinemas or museums, and so on. By doing these favourite things, we can effectively boost dopamine, oxytocine, and endorphine levels.
4. Do some valuable conversations and activities with lovely ones/pets.
We can do these acts like hugging, cuddling, having sex, cooking, going camping, travelling, laughing, and so on.
5. Maintain a healthy food intake.
Regulating our daily food intake may effectively reduce the possibility of disease that not only affects our physical conditions but also our minds.
6. Minimise toxic relationships and drama.
These two things are too dangerous, especially for our minds, and affect our mental health in the long term. Minimise them by decreasing the interaction with something or someone that brings negative vibes to your surroundings.
7. Practicing good acts.
This can be manivested as being generous, honest, grateful, and compassionate, and the brain interprets these attitudes as ways of inspiring confidence and good feelings in the body.
Happiness is like a magnet. It can affect us inside (our emotion that leads to spirit and productivity) and outside (our surroundings). Thus, we have to manage them well by focussing on
What we can control. What we have. This present time.
Hopefully, these tips can ultimately boost your mood, which will drive you to be far more productive than before!
Send regards for success!
